Overview
Before exporting your bills, you can configure several display settings to control the appearance of your client-facing documents. These settings are located at the bottom of the bills page (Stage 6) and affect every bill document you generate from this screen.
Letterheads
Including your company letterhead or logo on bill documents gives your quotation a professional, branded appearance.
- 1
Locate the Letterhead toggle in the document settings area at the bottom of the bills page.
- 2
Switch it on to include your company letterhead at the top of each bill document (tender summary, schedule of rates, and any pre-set documentation).
- 3
When enabled, the letterhead appears automatically in the header area of the preview window when you generate any bill.
Your letterhead is configured in Tools > System Preferences. This is where you upload your company logo or set up your letterhead layout. Once configured there, it appears on all bills where the letterhead toggle is enabled — you do not need to set it up again for each job.
Set up your letterhead in System Preferences before you start producing quotations. This ensures every bill you generate has consistent company branding from the outset.
Grid lines
Grid lines add horizontal and vertical rules to your bill documents, giving them a structured, tabular appearance.
- On — grid lines appear on the document, which can make dense schedules of rates easier to read.
- Off — grid lines are removed for a cleaner, less cluttered appearance. This is often preferred for tender summaries.
Toggle grid lines on or off depending on the document type and your client's expectations. For example, you might turn them off for a tender summary but keep them on for a detailed schedule of rates.
Page numbers
Page numbers can be toggled on or off independently of other settings.
- On — page numbers appear on each page of the document. This is recommended for multi-page documents such as quantified schedules of rates.
- Off — page numbers are hidden. This is suitable for single-page documents where numbering would be unnecessary.
These display settings apply to the current bill generation only. They do not carry over to other jobs or alter any global preferences. Each time you produce bills for a new job, you can configure them independently.
