Creating a new project
Before you create a project, make sure you have already uploaded your drawings to the cloud. You will need them once the project is open.

Click the New Project button on the home screen.

Fill in the project details. The form contains the following fields:
- Project code — the only mandatory field. Enter a unique code to identify your project (e.g. a job number or internal reference).
- Project name — a descriptive name for the project (optional).
- Client name — the client or company the project is for (optional).
- Notes — any additional information you want to record about the project (optional).

Click OK to create the project. Ensign X creates the project immediately and takes you directly into the main takeoff workspace.
If you are in a rush, you only need to enter the project code. You can come back and fill in the project name, client name, and notes at any later date.
Once the project opens, the workspace starts with a blank placeholder PDF. You are now ready to add drawings to the project.
