Edit Sections
The Edit Sections button on the Options panel of the amend job screen opens a view of all sections in the selected job. This screen is designed for bulk operations that would be time-consuming to carry out from the takeoff screen one section at a time.
Available operations
Delete multiple sections at once
Rather than removing sections one by one from the takeoff screen, you can select several sections on the Edit Sections screen and delete them in a single action. This is particularly useful when you need to restructure a job — for example, removing an entire floor's worth of sections after a specification change.
Delete all takeoff lines within a section
Clears the contents of a section without removing the section itself. The section shell remains in your structure, ready for new items. This is useful when you want to re-take-off a particular area from scratch while keeping the section structure intact.
Change the discipline of a section (MEP only)
Switch a section between Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing. This operation is only available if the section contains no takeoff lines. If items are present, you must remove them before changing the discipline.
If you need to change the discipline of a section that contains items, use the "delete all takeoff lines" function first to clear the section, change the discipline, and then re-input the items from the correct discipline's database. Alternatively, create a new section with the correct discipline and move the items across using cut and paste.
